The program, launched in December 2025, encourages the modernization of the sector, combining reduced financial costs, long repayment terms, and a focus on companies that operate directly in logistics. With this initiative, a resumption of investments in road freight transport is expected.

The resources made available are intended for the acquisition of new or semi-new trucks, provided that old vehicles are scrapped, creating a direct effect on the operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability of the national fleet. The BNDES Fleet Renewal program foresees a total funding of R$ 10 billion, with the possibility of financing up to R$ 50 million per beneficiary.

From a financial standpoint, the credit line stands out for offering terms of up to 60 months, with a grace period of up to six months, in addition to competitive rates. In operations with incentives, the estimated cost is around 11.8% per year, while without the discount, it is close to 13.3% per year. "It's a really very favorable condition for the entrepreneur," says Guilherme Ghilardi, Director of Products at Banco ABC Brasil.

The program estimates that a large portion of the demand will come from small and medium-sized enterprises, often with aging fleets and high maintenance costs. The assets most likely to be financed are heavy and semi-heavy trucks, geared towards transporting agricultural cargo, segments where logistical efficiency is a critical factor for competitiveness.

Cost reduction

“Financing new or used trucks through Fleet Renewal appears as an excellent alternative to reduce operating expenses, fuel consumption, and mechanical risks. These factors provide greater cash flow predictability,” says José Babinska, Commercial Director of Banco ABC Brasil.

Financing guarantees can be structured through the Investment Guarantee Fund (FGI), which expands access to credit, especially for companies with less banking history.

“ABC Brasil has been standing out in the transfer of BNDES Programs; recently, in the Brasil Soberano program, we were one of the main distributors. This type of program is linked to our strategy, contributing to increased efficiency and competitiveness for our clients,” highlights Ghilardi.

Programs like Renova Frota play a relevant role in the productive credit agenda, directing resources towards real assets. Replacing vehicles with newer models also aligns with the sustainability agenda, by reducing emissions and fuel consumption.
